Blizzard officials haven't announced a release date for the game, and only gave the hint that they would keep on working until they would be satisfied with the result. As we all see on internet discussion groups, most of the fans seem to be worried about how Blizzard would continue the legacy. Blizzard's Vice President of Game Design, Rob Pardo, gives us some clues in his interview with msn.com:
"...It’s not so much beating “StarCraft” that’s the problem, it’s beating people’s perception and nostalgia of “StarCraft.” “StarCraft” was and is a great game, but it’s certainly an older game. Across the board, “StarCraft II” is a better game in a lot of ways.
Will it live up to that nostalgia? Time will tell."
